Japan Rail Passes 

 

JR Pass (Nationwide) Eligibility & Conditions:
The JAPAN RAIL PASS is a special fare ticket that is available only to travelers visiting Japan from foreign countries for sightseeing. To be eligible to purchase a Japan Rail Pass, you must meet following condition.

1,You are a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing, under the entry status of "TEMPORARY VISITOR".
"TEMPORARY VISITOR" entry status, according to Japan Immigration Law, allows a stay in Japan of 15 days or 90 days for "sightseeing, etc.". When you enter Japan for sightseeing, Immigration personnel will stamp the passport as "TEMPORARY VISITOR". Only persons who have a passport bearing this stamp can use a JAPAN RAIL PASS.



 

 

 

 

 

 




 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Caution: Even if you visit Japan with an Exchange Order (NTA Exchange Order), to be exchanged in for a Japan Rail Pass, the exchange cannot be made unless you have "TEMPORARY VISITOR" status; if you enter Japan under any other official status, such as "Trainee", "Entertainer" or "Reentry Permit", you can not change the exchange order for a Japan Rail Pass. Please note that according to strict interpretation of the Japanese Immigration Law, "TEMPORARY VISITOR" status differs even from other types of stays that are also for only short time periods.

2.You have both Japanese passport and written proof - obtained from the embassy or legation of Japan in the foreign country where you live - that you have been living legally in the country for 10 consecutive years or more

*You must present both your passport and proof of eligibility to purchase an Exchange Order in a country other than Japan and to exchange your Exchange Order for a JAPAN RAIL PASS in Japan.
*You cannot use a photo copy of your passport to purchase an Exchange Order or to exchange your Exchange Order for a JAPAN RAIL PASS.
*You can purchase an Exchange Order and exchange it for a JAPAN RAIL PASS only if your stay in the country for 10 consecutive years or more is verified by such written proof.

*Please understand that Sachi Tours will not take any responsibility in the event that you are unable to exchange to Japan Rail Pass in Japan because you did not meet the eligibility requirement written above.

JR Pass Validity:
The valid period of a Japan Rail Pass is the consecutive 7, 14, or 21 days beginning on the date the Pass is first used. Within three months from the date the NTA Exchange Order was issued, you must exchange your NTA Exchange Order to obtain their Japan Rail Pass in Japan. At that time, it is necessary to specify the date that you want to start using the Pass. It can be any date within one month from the date the Pass is received.
Once the Pass has a starting date written on it, the date cannot be changed.

JR Pass Refund Policy:
-A NTA Exchange Order (EO) that has not been exchanged for a Japan Rail Pass can be returned to our office (NTA Sachi Tours Level 9, 22 Market Street, Sydney NSW 2000) for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such AU$100 refund processing and communication fee per exchange order will be charged. If you can return within a same month as the exchange order is purchased or can provide doctor's certificate or the like, AU$20 refund processing fee per exchange order will be charged. Please note that the refund processing time is between 3 and 7 business days after receiving an EO however you need to wait for 6 to 7 months if you can not return the EO to us.    

-After a NTA Exchange Order is exchanged for a Japan Rail Pass, the Pass can be presented to any Japan Rail Pass exchange office in Japan for a refund if this is done before the starting date of the Pass. (Ten percent of the Japanese yen price of the Pass will be charged as a handling fee.)

-No refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

JR Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

-Please note that if you type incorrect or insufficient information and reissuing of the voucher is required (including misspelling of names, not advising middle name), AU$20 reissue fee + any fare difference will be charged. *In case the fare as of the date of reissue is cheaper than the fare of the original order date, the fare difference will not be refundable.

Free Pick Up & Delivery Process:
-If you choose pick up from nearest branch office, we guarantee that you can pick up your exchange order for JR Pass within 30 mins after completing online booking (*Applicable to online booking that is made between Monday and Friday and 9am and 5pm local time.After hours and booking is made on Weekend and Public holiday will be processed on next business day.)

-If you choose delivery option, we guarantee to dispatch all orders on booking day and they will be delivered to your MAILBOX or PO BOX by Express Post. (*Applicable to online booking that is made between Monday and Friday and 9am and 5pm Sydney time(AEST/AEDT). After hours and booking is made on Weekend and Public holiday will be processed on next business day.)

-NTA/Sachi Tours is not liable for lost or misplaced item that is delivered by Australia post.

JR Pass Conditions of Use:
The Japan Rail Pass is not valid for any seats, reserved or non-reserved, on "NOZOMI" and "MIZUHO" trains on the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen Lines. (The pass holders must take "HIKARI," "SAKURA," "KODAMA," or "TSUBAME" trains.) If you use a "NOZOMI" OR "MIZUHO" train, you must pay the basic fare and the limited express charge, and for a Green Car, the additional Green Car surcharge. In addition, if you use the GranClass car of the Tohoku Shinkansen, Hokkaido Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen, you must pay the limited express charge and the GranClass car surcharge. Note also that passengers using JR trains on non-JR lines must pay additional fares and charges for sections traveled on such lines. Some JR trains use the lines of private railways for direct services.
Only the person whose name is inscribed on the face of the pass can use it.
The holder must carry a valid passport when using the pass.
The pass can be used on limited express trains of the Kyushu Railway Co., in ordinary reserved and non-reserved seating, and on ordinary trains of the Kyushu Railway Co. in the designated area for the pass. The All Kyushu Area Rail Pass can also be used for Kyushu Shinkansen Bullet trains.
No refund can be made even if there are no available reserved seats and the holder must use non-reserved seating.
If the holder travels on a Green Car, the Green Car charge will be assessed in addition to the ordinary express charge. The pass cannot be used for private
The pass cannot be used on sleeper trains, the Sanyo Shinkansen "bullet" train, or JR Kyushu buses.
The pass cannot be used for fares on connecting or other train lines not operated by Kyushu Railway Co.
The holder will be required to pay applicable fares incurred as a result of riding beyond the designated area for this pass.
No refund can be made even if there are no available reserved seats and the holder must use non-reserved seating.



JR West Rail Pass Eligibility & Conditions:
-Overseas customers who meet all of the following conditions can buy the pass;
* Persons who have a passport issued by a government or other authority outside Japan, as well as customers who have come to Japan with "Temporary Visitor" residence status (15-day period of stay). However, persons from countries with visa exemptions -- such the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden and New Zealand can buy the pass, even with a 90-day period of stay in Japan.
* Customers who have an Embarkation/ Disembarkation Card (ED Card) for departure from Japan,as well as a return ticket of airline or ship.
* Customers who are purchasing a JR-WEST PASS for the first time during their stay in Japan. (purchase limited to one pass per person per trip)

JR West Rail Pass Refund Policy:
A NTA Exchange Order that has not been exchanged for a JR West Rail Pass can be returned to our office for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such a case 10% of the AUD price of the Exchange Order refund processing and communication fee will be charged.

-After a NTA Exchange Order is exchanged for a JR West Rail Pass, the Pass can be presented to any JR West Rail Pass exchange office in Japan for a refund if this is done before the starting date of the Pass. (Ten percent of the Japanese yen price of the Pass will be charged as a handling fee.)

-Please note that no refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

JR West Rail Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

-Please note that if you type incorrect or insufficient information and reissuing of the voucher is required (including misspelling of names, not advising middle name), AU$20 reissue fee + any fare difference for Tokaido Sanyo, Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Passes and AU$10 reissue fee + any fare difference for JR West, Takayama Hokuriku Passes will be charged. *In case the fare as of the date of reissue is cheaper than the fare of the original order date, the fare difference will not be refundable.


JR Hokkaido Rail Pass Eligibility & Conditions:
* The Hokkaido Rail Pass is a special ticket that can only be purchased by persons who have a"Short-Term Tourist Visa".
* The criteria for enabling a person to purchase the rail pass is this:
The person must have the stamp for "Short-Term Tourist Visa" stamped in their passport.

JR Hokkaido Rail Pass Refund Policy:
-A NTA Exchange Order that has not been exchanged for a Hokkaido Rail Pass can be returned to our office for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such a case 10% of the AUD price of the Exchange Order refund processing and communication fee will be charged.

-After a NTA Exchange Order is exchanged for a JR Hokkaido Rail Pass, the Pass can be presented to any JR Hokkaido Rail Pass exchange office in Japan for a refund if this is done before the starting date of the Pass. (Ten percent of the Japanese yen price of the Pass will be charged as a handling fee.)

-Please note that no refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

JR Hokkaido Rail Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

-Please note that if you type incorrect or insufficient information and reissuing of the voucher is required (including misspelling of names, not advising middle name), AU$20 reissue fee + any fare difference will be charged. *In case the fare as of the date of reissue is cheaper than the fare of the original order date, the fare difference will not be refundable.


 

JR Kyushu Rail Pass Eligibility & Conditions:
-The purchaser is not a Japanese citizen, and has entered Japan on a temporary visitor visa issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan.

JR Kyushu Rail Pass Refund Policy:
-A NTA Exchange Order that has not been exchanged for a Kyushu Rail Pass can be returned to our office for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such a case 10% of the AUD price of the Exchange Order refund processing and communication fee will be charged.

-After a NTA Exchange Order is exchanged for a JR Kyushu Rail Pass, the Pass can be presented to any JR Kyushu Rail Pass exchange office in Japan for a refund if this is done before the starting date of the Pass. (Ten percent of the Japanese yen price of the Pass will be charged as a handling fee.)

-Please note that no refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

JR Kyushu Rail Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

-Please note that if you type incorrect or insufficient information and reissuing of the voucher is required (including misspelling of names, not advising middle name), AU$20 reissue fee + any fare difference for Kyushu 3 & 5Days Passes and $10 for Northern Kyushu Pass will be charged. *In case the fare as of the date of reissue is cheaper than the fare of the original order date, the fare difference will not be refundable.


 

All Shikoku Rail Pass Eligibility & Conditions:
-The pass user must have a passport issued a government or other authority outside of Japan and hold Temporary Visitor status of residence under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.

All Shikoku Rail Pass Refund Policy:
-A NTA Exchange Order that has not been exchanged for a All Shikoku Rail Pass can be returned to our office for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such a case 10% of the AUD price of the Exchange Order refund processing and communication fee will be charged.

-After a NTA Exchange Order is exchanged for a All Shikoku Rail Pass, the Pass can be presented to any All Shikoku Rail Pass exchange office in Japan for a refund if this is done before the starting date of the Pass. (Ten percent of the Japanese yen price of the Pass will be charged as a handling fee.)

-Please note that no refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

All Shikoku Rail Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

JR East Rail Pass Eligibility & Conditions:
-The JR EAST PASS is a special discounted pass available only to customers visiting Japan (with a short-term visa no longer than 90 days) and holding a non-Japanese passport.

JR East Rail Pass Refund Policy:
-A NTA Exchange Order (E ticket) that has not been exchanged for a JR EAST RAIL PASS can be returned to our office for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such a case 10% of the AUD price of the Exchange Order refund processing and communication fee will be charged.

-Please note that no refund or extension of the validity period can be made in the event of a train non-operation, delay, or the like.

JR East Rail Pass Reissue Policy:
-Neither an order nor a pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping.

Japan Pocket Wifi 

"Contract" indicates the contract which shows a customer needs to consent this Use Agreement and the cautions on use, and also needs to use application in a procedure our company predetermined by the application deadline. Also, Contract means a contract which is about service between customer and us after we consent the application."Service"refers to the Sachi Tours's WiFi Modem rental Plan service which accompanies the Wi-Fi Modem communication device which is offered by us.

Article 1: Terms and condition
These terms and conditions apply to all customers renting devices and the attached accessories (hereafter referred to as rental device(s) respectively) from Sachi Tours. (hereafter referred to as our company).All times in this documents are according to GMT+10:00(Sydney).
Article 2: Acceptance of your application
This service contract concludes at the point of we accept the order application which Sachi Tours predetermine.Sachi Tours may not accept the order in following cases. Also, Sachi Tours may cancel the contract without notification and having an agreement from the person who ordered if Sachi Tours find the following cases even if it is after the contract is concluded.If Sachi Tours can not provide services due to unavailability of requested modem or device.If Sachi Tours determines that the user of the application breaches or has possibility to breach this agreement.
Article 03: Pick-up and return
You need to pick up & return Japan Wifi at our Sydney offices only. Our Sydney office is located at Level 9, 22 Market Street, Sydney 2000. Opening hours is Mon to Fri 9am to 5:30pm (*Sat,Sun & Public Holiday is closed)
Article 4: Rental Range
The length of service shall be determined up on the user's request.
Article 5: Changing the detail of order
The person who ordered must contact Sachi Tours immediately.
Article 6: Changing and extension of contract
Customer needs contact us 3 business days before of the pick-up date and approval of us shall be obtained when customer wishes to change the detail of the contract. In order to extend the rental period, customer needs to notify Sachi Tours in advance and it needs to be before the final date of the rental period. In that case, customer needs to pay $22.00 for the extension commission and the charge for each plan. In addition, if customer continued using the rental device without approval of us, customer needs to pay the arrears.When the device is not returned to Sachi Tours three days after from the returned date, you will have to pay $ 22/day as for delayed fee.You may extend your service length up on your request, and depending on the additional number of the days to extend, extension charge may occur automatically. Once extension request has been made, cancellation shall no be accepted.It is possible to return the device earlier than the final date, but the rental fee for the remaining days will not be refunded.
Article 7: Cancellation
When a user wish to cancel this agreement, immediate notification of the cancellation should be given to Sachi Tours.
Article 8: Charge
The person who ordered shall pay the following charges after return the device.Additional rental fee.Late fee.Broken or lost fee according to Article10 and 11.The charge about other accompanying service
Article 9: Payment method
The payment is only acceptable by credit card under the name of the person who ordered. We may send a bill to the specified address if the credit card company turns down the credit card.
Article 10: Control of device kit and lost or damage device
Customer shall care for and use the rental device for its intended purpose according to the instructions provided by us.If the rental device is lost or damaged during the rental period, customer needs to inform us immediately. In this case, customer shall pay us the device price in Table 1.The communication fee by third parties who arose on the occasions such as a theft shall have the duty of payment to customer.Even if device carried out such as a theft are discovered/recovered after (after settling accounts with a specification card) issue a bill from us, device price shall not return.

Article 11: Prohibition
Customer shall not attach any other device to our rental device(s). Modifications or replacement of any parts of the device(s) is prohibited.Customer is not allowed to give, pawn, or lend our rental device(s) to any third parties nor shall customers commit any act that violates our right with regard to the device(s).
Article 12: Policy for fair usage of data communication
Subscribers, etc. shall agree to the following matters.When a communication company within and outside of Japan identifies a massive volume of data communication, the communication volume for the line may be limited without prior notice in order to maintain network quality and fair usage of radio waves. For this reason, Internet connection may be lost or the communication speed may decrease.In the event of usage restriction to mobile communication devices, etc. due to the reason in the above section, the Company shall take no responsibility and the subscribers, etc. shall pay the usage fees, etc. to the Company.
Article 13: Compensation insurance
Subscribers, etc. shall agree on the following matters.Compensation insurance can be subscribed only at the time of application.Compensation insurance shall indemnify all or part of the compensation relating to loss, theft and breakage of mobile communication devices, etc., and not indemnify fees for communication, etc. until suspension of the line as well as lost earnings, etc. by subscribers, etc. due to loss, theft and breakage.When compensation insurance is subscribed and loss or theft of mobile communication device, etc. occurs, subscribers, etc. shall submit a theft report certificate issued by a local police office or an equivalent document as evidence of such theft.
Article 14: Cancellation of this agreement
In the case that actions by subscribers, etc. fall under any one of the following paragraphs, the Company may immediately cancel the contract without any warning.Discovery of false information on the application form, Deterioration of credit standard Breach of this agreement Purposes of device usage are unlawful or against public morals If your contract is forcibly cancelled by Sachi Tours, rental device(s) must be returned immediately and all of required costs/damages due to the cancellation shall be outside of Sachi Tours's responsibility. Cancellation shall be conducted according to Article 9-4 when you failed to notify Sachi Tours for the service extension request, and if the device is not returned maximum 7 days after the original return date.
Article 15: Change of this agreement
We may change the detail of this agreement without a preliminary announcement and each plan rate and customer should have followed. In this case, we will inform by updating our website or other way.
Article 16: Policy on handling personal information
The Company shall use personal information obtained from subscribers, etc. within the scope of purposes under the privacy policy of the Company, and subscribers, etc. shall apply for the Service upon accepting the policy.
Article 17: Policy on service
Prior to commence your service, users must read thoroughly and understand the contents of all of documents, websites regarding pocket Wi-Fi modems for Japan and Overseas), that Sachi Toursprovides.
Article 18: Applicable and jurisdiction
All of users who agreed with the conditions/terms of this agreement must to comply with respective Australian State Law in case of lawsuit regardless of scale the case or money amount of prosecution.
